Rasmus meets God’s best friend

Rasmus and Paradise-Oskar explain how they first met. Rasmus had escaped from the orphanage Västerhaga and set out on the road to find new parents for himself. Gunnar had said that everyone only wants girls with curly hair, but surely there must be someone who would consider a boy with straight, tousled hair?

He runs along the narrow paths in the summer night and spends the night in a small barn in a meadow. When he wakes up, he realises that he is not alone in the barn, there is a vagabond in the hay over there. It’s Oskar – the Paradise vagabond and God’s best friend.
