The stories are closer than you think
Astrid Lindgren World is located in Vimmerby, Småland – just a stone’s throw from Astrid Lindgren’s childhood home. On the same grounds where Astrid’s father Samuel August once used to farm, you can now meet Emil in Lönneberga, Pippi Longstocking, Ronja the Robber’s daughter and most of the other characters that Astrid Lindgren wrote about.
Important information about entrance and direction
We have a new entrance road to Astrid Lindgren’s World. At the moment, GPS and digital map services, such as Google Maps, may show the wrong route to the park.
To make sure you arrive correctly, please follow the road signs to Astrid Lindgren’s World as you approach Vimmerby, and do not rely solely on your GPS.
Please follow the signs to our main entrance and main access road.
Travel by train
Travelling by train together is both cosy and climate-smart. During our opening hours, you can take the train directly to our own train station, Astrid Lindgren’s World, which is adjacent to the car park and just 100 metres from the entrance to the park. You can leave your luggage in our staffed storage room inside the entrance to the park.
