Ronja, sister of mine
So winter comes to Mattis Castle and Mattis Forest. While the robbers are having their winter bath and lice combing, Ronja goes out on skis into the forest. But she loses her ski in a snowdrift and gets her foot stuck in a rump-goblin hole. A wile-wing sees Ronja and flies to fetch her wile-wing sisters. They will take Ronja to the mountains, where she will work until she bleeds.
Ronja struggles desperately to free herself but gets no help from the scatterbrained rump-goblins. Then Birk arrives, who Ronja is so very angry with. He helps her to free herself and suddenly she never wants him to leave her again! She wishes he was her brother. “I can be your brother if you want,” says Birk. “Ronja, sister of mine,”
Back home in the safety of the castle, Ronja asks Mattis how there can be so many things that the robbers just go and find every day. Mattis decides to finally tell Ronja what it is that robbers actually do..
