Arrival and departure

The check-in time is 15:30.
The check-out time is 10:00 for bookings that include final cleaning or 11:00 for those who have opted to clean for themselves.

Arrival

You can check in from 15:30. If your accommodation is available for early check-in, a notification will be sent to the mobile number provided at the time of booking.

Departure

You must check out no later than 10:00 if you have pre-booked final cleaning and no later than 11:00 if you have chosen to clean for yourself. You can check out at reception or use our express check-out service. Please leave your key in the designated postbox at the reception entrance. Don’t forget to go through the checklist you received on arrival.

Additional extras

All our accommodation is booked on a self-service basis. Cleaning and washing-up supplies, as well as blankets and pillows, are available in your house/cottage. You can add rental of sheets and towels and book final cleaning and breakfast. There are also cots available for rent. You can add extras to your booking up to two days before arrival via My Booking.

Bed linen and towel set

If you have forgotten to bring your own sheets/towels, you can rent them at our reception for SEK 185/set.

  

Cot/high chair

We have a limited number of cots and high chairs. A high chair is available in all accommodation in The Tiny Town. For other accommodation options, a high chair can be borrowed from the reception. A cot can be rented for SEK 150/night.

Meals

One of the park’s restaurants offers a buffet breakfast for overnight guests.
During the summer season, one of the park’s restaurants also offers dinner every evening. You can book breakfast/dinner direct at the time of booking, or via My Booking up to two days before arrival. Places are limited.

Cleaning

You clean your house or cottage yourself before departure. Each accommodation has its own cleaning equipment. You can also order final cleaning as an add-on, which costs 650-1350 SEK per accommodation and must be purchased no later than 2 days before arrival. If final cleaning is booked, cleaning is included, but you are responsible for washing the dishes and taking out the trash. A fee of 2000 SEK will be charged afterward for an uncleaned cottage.

Accommodation parking

Our accommodation area is car free . During check-in, you can park free in the designated car park for guest accommodation. At other times, you can park free in our main car park. Parking tickets are included in your booking; if you are travelling with more than one car, these can also be parked for free.

Show your accommodation booking to our car park attendants/cashier/reception to get a physical ticket to put in the front window of each car or print out the parking tickets sent with your booking.

Luggage trolleys

If you have a lot to carry, you can borrow a luggage trolley. You can find luggage trolleys at the guest accommodation car parks. Once you have unloaded your belongings, please return the trolley for the next guest to use. Luggage trolleys can be used in the guest accommodation area.

Cancellations and rebooking of houses and cottages

Good to know

Cancellation
You can purchase cancellation protection for SEK 250 per cottage at the time of booking. It is valid until the day before arrival with a valid document from, e.g., a doctor, authority or insurance company, showing that you are unable to make your visit. You will be refunded the cost of the booking minus the cancellation cover.
We must receive the documentation no later than 30 days after the date of cancellation.

If you do not have cancellation protection and documentation, you are not entitled to a refund. The following applies: In the case of cancellation more than 30 days before arrival, the first payment installment will not be refunded. In the case of cancellation less than 30 days before arrival, only entrance tickets will be refunded.

Rebooking
You can rebook within the same calendar year up to 30 days before arrival, after which rebooking is not possible and we refer to our cancellation policy. Any discounts on your booking do not apply in the case of rebooking.

Reception

Located at the heart of the square in the Tiny Town is the Town Hall, which houses the reception for our guest accommodation. Here you can check in and out, as well as get help and information. The reception is staffed daily during the period 17/5 to 18/8.

Shop

In our shop in the reception building, you will find breakfast items, such as spreads and accompaniments, milk and yoghurt, and other foodstuffs. Of course, we also stock hygiene products, toys, coffee, tea and ice cream and barbecue supplies.

Reporting faults

If you discover any faults or problems with your accommodation, you should immediately report it to the reception so that we have a chance to address it. If the reception is closed, please document the problem and notify us no later than 10:00 the following day. If there is an urgent fault, you can call the property service team directly. You can find the phone number on your arrival envelope.

Laundry facilities

The service building in the area with pitches has several washing machines and tumble dryers that can be used free of charge. Contact reception to book a time and receive a door code.

Entrance tickets

If you have booked entrance tickets to Astrid Lindgren’s World, you will receive them by email when your booking is fully paid. Print them out and take them to the park or show them at the entrance on your phone. The tickets are registered on the day of arrival, but you can choose which day you visit the park during your stay. Multi-day tickets are valid from the first day of your visit and for the subsequent day(s).

To my booking

New entrance for those staying in a house or cottage

From summer 2024, in addition to our main entrance, we will offer a separate entrance especially for those staying in our houses and cottages. If you book your entrance tickets as an option in your accommodation booking, you will have access to the entrance directly adjacent to The Tiny Town.
Those with other entrance tickets are required to use the main entrance.

Discounted entry to Astrid Lindgren’s Näs

Anyone who books accommodation or an entrance ticket for Astrid Lindgren’s World will receive a discount on their entrance ticket to Astrid Lindgren’s Näs.

If you have not already booked entrance tickets, or an accommodation package that includes entrance tickets, to Astrid Lindgren’s World, you can still get a 25% discount on your entrance ticket to Astrid Lindgren’s Näs upon presentation of your entrance ticket to Astrid Lindgren’s World.

This offer is valid from 17 May to 22 September 2024.

 

Cleaning

You can choose between cleaning your accommodation yourself or booking final cleaning. Each accommodation has its own cleaning equipment. Final cleaning must be added as an additional extra to your accommodation booking no later than two days before arrival.

Good to know

You will receive a cleaning checklist when you check in. If you have ordered final cleaning, we will take care of most of it for you, but there are some items on the checklist that you will be responsible for before departure. Please note that washing-up is not included in the final cleaning. If there are unwashed dishes at the time of final cleaning, 300 SEK will be charged. If the accommodation is left uncleaned, a charge of SEK 2,000 will be applied retrospectively.

The guest accommodation at Astrid Lindgren’s World is built on the edge of the forest right next to the park. There are several different accommodation options: houses in The Tiny Town with streets and surroundings inspired by early 20th-century Vimmerby or smaller cottages with their own patio near the forest.

Welcome to The Tiny Town

The guest accommodation is about 250 metres from the main entrance to the park. The area is quite large so the distance varies slightly depending on where you are staying in the area.

Breakfast buffet

One of the park’s restaurants, right next to our guest accommodation, offers a tasty and filling breakfast buffet for our overnight guests every morning. It includes freshly baked bread, milk, various spreads and accompaniments, cereals and porridge. We also have options for those who are gluten and/or lactose intolerant.
Breakfast is served 08:45-10:00.
We also offer an earlier sitting, 07:30-08:30, during the summer season.

Good to know

Our breakfast is very popular and usually books up quickly. If you have forgotten to book, you can of course ask at our reception if there are any places left. Breakfast is only available for those staying in our guest accommodation.
NB Entrance to the park from the breakfast service is not possible; please use the entrance gates instead.
