For a child, it’s a dream come true to be at the heart of the action with their favourite characters close enough to touch them. That’s what they will experience here at Astrid Lindgren’s World. Between performances, you can meet Pippi, Emil and the others in their home settings. Children meeting Astrid Lindgren’s characters that is the real adventure and what makes their visit truly memorable.

Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter

On the night Ronja was born, thunder rolled over the mountains, lightning struck and split Mattis Castle in two.

Karlsson on the Roof

Karlsson is a rather insufferable and cheeky person who eats all the sweets by himself and likes to ‘tirritate’ people.

Emil in Lönneberga

The five-year-old Emil may look like an angel, but everyone knows that he is wild and stubborn and has more moments of mischief than there are days in the year.

Pippi Longstocking

Pippi Longstocking lives in Villa Villekulla on the outskirts of the Tiny, Tiny Town.

The Brothers Lionheart

The Brothers Lionheart is a tale of love strong enough to conquer death – not just once, but twice.

Madicken

Madicken is fearless and often ends up in tricky situations that she finds various clever ways of escaping.

Rasmus and the Vagabond

Rasmus joins the vagabond Paradise-Oskar to search for a mother and father of his own.

If there was one thing that Astrid Lindgren cared about, it was the right of children to play freely. The park is full of imaginative play areas! When there are no performances on, the settings from Astrid Lindgren’s stories are also amazing places for fun and games.

Brenda Brave’s grandmother’s house

Brenda lives with her grandmother in a small house on a hilly cobbled street in the poorest part of town.

Cherry Tree Valley and Wild Rose Valley

In Nangijala there are two green valleys, Cherry Tree Valley and Wild Rose Valley.

Junedale

This is where Madicken and Lisbet live with their mum and dad and the house maid, the wonderful Alva.

Karlsson’s roof

Here in Vasatan, on a very ordinary street in a very ordinary house lives Smidge with his very ordinary family.

Katthult

This is where Emil lives with his father Anton, his mother Alma and his little sister Ida.

Mattis Forest

Mattis Forest is a place full of strange creatures and fascinating things to discover.

Noisy Village

The three houses are built on a child-friendly scale, and inside you can listen to audio recordings from the films.

Play barn

Right next to Katthult is an old turn-of-the-century barn, made just for play.

Rasmus’ barn

It was in this little hay barn that Rasmus slept on that June night he ran away from the orphanage.

Simon Small’s house

Here everyone can experience what it’s like to be as small as a pixie.

The Birch Trees

Here you can have a go at the don’t-touch-the-ground course or compete with hobby horses.

The Tiny, Tiny Town

This is what Vimmerby would have looked like at the beginning of the century as Astrid Lindgren was growing up.

Troublemaker Street

Lotta lives in a yellow house on Troublemaker Street with her mum and dad and her older brother and sister.

In the middle of the forest, not far from Mattisborgen, is a delapidated mill.

Villa Villekulla

Here in Villa Villekulla, on the outskirts of the Tiny, Tiny Town lives Pippi Longstocking.

Sweden’s largest outdoor theatre

Here, we offer a fantastic theatre experience for people of all ages. Every day we put on about 40 performances, all based on Astrid Lindgren’s stories, many of which include singing, music and dance as part of the story.

Stay round the corner from the park

Just outside the gates there are nice and comfortable houses and cottages to sleep the whole family. Here you can stay in everything from old workers’ cottages, townhouses, cabins, cosy crofts, cottages or even a grand two-storey villa.
